The definition of a friend: an ally, supporter, loyal, a person whom one knows well and is fond of. The Henry County Fairy is lucky to have many friends but let me tell about one very special one, Ed Cuthbertson.
Ed was born in Chicago the son of Charley and late Sophia Cuthbertson. He often visited relatives in Benton and Henry County and then in 1971 his family moved here permanently. Ed graduated from Henry County High School in 1975. Ed and his wife, Rhonda, have three children, Adam, Luke and Corey Cuthbertson. Ed is employed by Houchens food group Inc. His hobbies include camping, campfire cooking and grilling.
Ed joined the Fair Board in the later 1980's. He has served in many positions including terms as president, vice-president, committee chairperson, ring man for the Jr. Livestock Sale and a term as a director for the Tennessee Associations of Fairs. He has been in charge of the building of many things for the fair - from concessions stands to grandstand bleachers to floats for the Fish Fry parade. When you look at the commercial building, think of Ed. He was our mastermind behind it and without him leading the way; it would still be just a dream. Ed has not only been a friend to the Henry County Fair but to so many people and organizations in our community.
Our "special friend" is a Jack of All Trades and a Master of Many and we are so proud to dedicate the 2011 Henry County Fair Book to Ed!
